Ed Coombs is a Policy Lead in the R&D Strategy and Spend Team within the Government Office for Science. He leads on advising the Government Chief Scientific Advisor and Government Departments on making better use of the UK’s Public Sector Research Establishments, on building commercial science capability for accessing private sector technologies and on R&D spend across government. Prior to this role, Ed worked in the Life Sciences practice of management consulting firm Charles River Associates (CRA), where he advised pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on R&D, product, and portfolio strategy in a range of therapy areas. Ed holds an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford.
