Gordon McGregor is Director of Nomad Energy Solutions Ltd. and Ashburn Energy. He is also a Member of the Council at NERC. Gordon was previously Managing Director of technology business Spot Sensor Technologies Ltd, based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
He has more than two decades of experience working in the energy and utility sector, most recently serving as Environment and Innovation Director at ScottishPower plc (part of the international energy group IBERDROLA) where he led the company’s efforts on environmental management, regulation and R&D for the group. He has a wide experience in helping deliver major infrastructure projects, especially in renewables, energy efficiency and smarter grids.
He is a champion for clean energy and a strong advocate for habitat protection. He has recently served as chair of the Government’s Electric Vehicle Strategy Board, the Council of the CBI in Scotland and on the board of the Scottish European Green Energy Centre. He currently sits on the Advisory Board for WWF Scotland, the 2020 Climate Group and is a member of the RSPB Committee for Scotland.
Gordon has a BEng In Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow, an MBA from Heriot Watt University and an LLM in Environmental Law (Distinction) from the University of Aberdeen.
