COO & Co-founder, Health Lumen
Laura is the COO & Co-founder of Health Lumen. Before co-founding HealthLumen, Laura was Director of Public Health Modelling at the UKHF. She led a multi-disciplinary team of epidemiologists, mathematicians, analysts, and computer programmers, working on global, European and national projects.
Key challenges included exploring the economics of chronic diseases for the European Commission and modelling obesity across all 52 US states and territories for Trust for America’s Health. Other major clients were Public Health England, Cancer Research UK, the World Health Organization and the World Bank.
After a Cambridge University MA, Laura completed a PhD in childhood obesity from University College London. She’s an honorary Assistant Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine’s Health Protection Research Unit, and an occasional advisor to the World Health Organization and World Bank.
She’s led or co-authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and major reports. She was nominated Young Investigator of the Year at Europrevent, Amsterdam in 2015. In 2018 she won the Future Leader Award at the Open University, where she’s studying for an MBA.
