Louise currently works in the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero as Head of Science Capability and Strategy in the Chief Scientific Adviser’s Office. She leads a team to develop and deliver the Department’s science strategy, and strengthen the science system to ensure appropriate mechanisms are in place to facilitate greater scientific evidence and advice to support policy making.

She previously worked in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, as well as UKRI, where she worked in UKRI International to develop contingency plans for EU Exit and STFC, building and strengthening international relations.

Louise holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and an MChem degree from Cardiff University.
