Michael Jones originally read Architecture at the University of Cambridge. After qualifying as an architect, he worked in London local government at senior and chief officer levels before returning to Cambridge in 1994 to join CCHPR. His main interests are in housing finance, allocation and distribution issues, and housing construction.

He has been a Board member of Hounslow Homes, Chair of the Board at Homes for Haringey, and is currently Chairman of Andium Homes, a stock transfer company owned by the States of Jersey.
