Professor Randall Johnson is the Professor of Molecular Physiology and Pathology in the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge. His laboratory uses genetic models to study the effects of hypoxia in physiological and pathological contexts.

He is a world renowned expert on the role of hypoxia inducible factors in the regulation of physiologic responses to low oxygen tensions. Before taking up his role here at Cambridge he worked in the Karolinska institute, Sweden and University of California San Diego.
