Andrew is the Principal Industrial Fellow in the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge. He works in the IfM's Education and Consultancy Services, which he joined in 2005. He works extensively with IfM research colleagues in the transfer and exploitation of research findings into Industry. His focus has been largely in Aerospace, Energy and with Government.

Andrew joined IfM ECS following five years in a senior role with A.T. Kearney Management Consultants, and eighteen years in manufacturing and general management at Royal Dutch/Shell. His interests include: Development and implementation of business, manufacturing and technology strategy; Operations improvement (including post-merger integration); and Design and facilitation of complex, controversial, change programmes.

Andrew has recently been working the Technology Strategy Board and the IfM on the Development of the UK High Value Manufacturing Landscape study.
