Thomas Whelan is a Junior Policy Fellow, and has worked in various HMG Departments (including the MoD), covering project management and business intelligence roles.

Prior to this Thomas enjoyed an academic background focused on International Relations (MA Hons) and Terrorism Studies (MLitt), both from the University of St Andrews; the latter included six months at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Tom is also a British Army Officer (Reserve).

He has a particular interest in learning how we can improve and evolve the mechanisms and approaches we use to understand macro-level changes, and their subsequent effect on policy planning for the future.

Thomas is an avid sports enthusiast and loves hiking, running and cycling. He lives in London, but originally came from the Isle of Wight, and previously spent five years living in Scotland.
