Chief Economic Adviser, Greater Manchester Combined Authority

Alan Harding is Chief Economic Adviser to the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and a visiting professor at the Alliance Manchester Business School. His principal GMCA responsibilities relate to the development of the evidence base that underpins Greater Manchester strategies for local economic growth and public service reform. Previously, he spent thirty years in academia, leading a number of urban-regional research centres and institutes in Liverpool, Salford and Manchester.
