PhD Candidate, Department of Sociology, University of Cambridge
Alex Wood is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Sociology at the University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr Brendan Burchell. His PhD uses an 'extended case' ethnographic approach (qualitative interviews with flexible workers, union activist and union officials, participant and non-participant observation of flexible work and union organising combined with political economy).
Alex is a strong believer in 'public sociology'. His research has been covered by The Observer, The New Internationalist, Red Pepper and Open Democracy.
