Bim Afolami was the Conservative Member of Parliament for the Hitchin and Harpenden constituency, first being elected at the 2017 general election. He was Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Therese Coffey.
Before he became an MP, he worked as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and then as a senior executive in restructuring and strategy at HSBC. Bim is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Ditchley Foundation.
He read Modern History at the University of Oxford.
