Laura Trott is the Conservative MP for Sevenoaks, elected at the 2019 general election. She is a member of the House of Commons Health and Social Care committee.

Prior to becoming an MP, she worked as a political adviser for the Conservative Party. From 2011 until 2015 she served in Downing Street advising the then Prime Minister, latterly as Head of Strategic Communications and also as part of the policy team which wrote the 2015 manifesto. She was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of this service. Upon leaving government, she then became a partner at Portland Communications before being elected to Parliament.

Laura is an ambassador for the Sutton Trust, which helps young people who are the first in their family to go to university.

She has a degree in economics from the University of Oxford, and originally trained as a management consultant.
