Researcher at the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG)
Jessica is a Centre Researcher at the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG) and a PhD student in the Department of Land Economy, University of Cambridge. Under the supervision of Dr Emily Webster and Prof. Jorge E Viñuales, she studies strategic climate litigation to enforce the Paris Agreement, with a focus on the transnationalisation of environmental governance, the emergence of climate norms of international law, and systemic integration.
Jessica is a qualified lawyer with more than ten years of experience in international commercial and investment arbitration with a particular focus on disputes in the energy sector. She has served as Sole, Co-Arbitrator and Counsel and has broad experience resolving high value, complex disputes under most major arbitral institutions, numerous governing laws, and arbitral seats. She also has experience as in-house counsel to an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) company to the energy sector in Milan and in the public sector as the Special Legislative Assistant to the Government House Leader in the Parliament of Ontario, Canada. She holds a B.A. Hons. (McGill University), an LLB. Hons., (University College London) and an LLM in Energy, Climate Change and Dispute Resolution from the Energy Institute at Queen Mary University of London. She has also completed executive training on the impact of the climate emergency on global business at the University of Oxford. She is admitted to practice in New York and as a Solicitor in England and Wales and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
