Postgraduate Skills Training Officer, School of Technology, University of Cambridge

Dr Susan Jackson is the Postgraduate Skills Training Officer for the School of Technology and will be working closely with the School's Faculties and Departments to co-ordinate skills training activities, contributing to their design, delivery and evaluation. Working with the School Office and the Graduate Development Programme in the Centre for Personal and Professional Development she will also play a key role in developing the School's Transferable Skills strategy in the longer term.

Sue read Natural Sciences at Cambridge followed by a PhD in Materials Science. She is a Chartered Engineer, having worked for nine years at The Welding Institute (TWI) and has worked in the University in various roles since 1990, most recently as Executive Secretary of Cambridge Environment Initiatives and as a Senior Research Associate in the Centre for Applied Research in Educational Technology (CARET). She is a Fellow of Lucy Cavendish College where she has been both an undergraduate and graduate tutor.

    CSaP is hosting a discussion programme in front of a live audience, for the BBC World Service Forum programme, which takes place at 6pm on 24 September at Murray Edwards College in Cambridge – the first time the Forum has been hosted at the University.
