After many very public failures in government delivery during the last decade, there was with the new Government a concerted effort to address Civil Service reform. Though the current changes are necessary they do not go far enough and address systemic weakness which are weakening trust in the civil service and damaging the UK economy. This talk is based on experience of interacting with government from the outside and considers some more fundamental ideas for change.
