Numbers are weapons: a self-defence guide

Speaker: Tim Harford, Financial Times "Undercover Economist", presenter of Radio 4’s ‘More or Less’

Venue: Babbage Lecture Theatre, New Museum Site

17:30, 22 May 2013

Tim Harford is presenter of Radio 4's "More or Less" - a program commended three years running for excellence in journalism by the Royal Statistical Society. But Tim isn't a statistician - and neither is anyone else on the program team. So how do people with a limited understanding of the technical details keep their heads - and their facts straight - in a world swimming with complex statistics? Tim presents a self-defence guide for the statistical battlefield.

MRC Biostatistics Unit and University of Cambridge Statistical Laboratory are cohosting a celebratory series of one-hour public lectures. The series concludes on 20 June 2013 with a final lecture and Summer Reception.
