Alex Jones is Director for Insights and Research at the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted), where he has responsibility for Ofsted’s research programme, and the data and insights which inform the entirety of Ofsted’s work. Alex started his career as a Social Worker in East Devon, before progressing through roles in local and central government, including working for around a decade at the then Department for International Development working across Asia and Africa. In 2020 he moved to No10 to establish a new data science unit (10DS). Alex holds a Masters in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics from the University of Warwick, and an MSc (Distinction) from University College London (UCL).
