Alex is the Deputy Director for Innovation and Growth within the Office for Life Sciences, a joint unit between the Health and Science Departments. In this role, Alex is responsible for all of the OLS’ work on the development, regulation, market access and deployment in the NHS of medicines and medical technologies. Alex serves as SRO for programmes with a total value of ~£700m; played a core role in the development of multiple Government strategies in relation to the Life Science sector and the NHS; and was closely involved in the negotiation of the 2023 Voluntary Pricing, Access and Growth medicines pricing deal.

In previous roles, Alex has led the Private Offices of multiple Government Ministers; worked in the office of the Chief Medical Officer; and run a large vaccine development programme.
