Alison is the head of Accessibility and Inclusive Travel at the Department for Transport. During her time in this role she has driven forward the department’s work to embed accessibility and equalities considerations in the heart of policy making and overseen the publication of the Government’s Inclusive Transport Strategy, a wide reaching document setting out the Government’s aims to make the transport system fully accessible to disabled people. Alison’s previous roles at the Department for Transport covered areas such as cycling and walking, sustainable travel and urban congestion, including leading the development and delivery of the first statutory Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy.

Prior to joining the world of policy making, Alison spent nearly 10 years working as an operational research analyst in a number of Government Departments.
