Mr. Anirudh Tewari is presently working as the Director General of the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration in the Government of Punjab, India. He has wide policy experience of working at the state and national level, with more than 30 years in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Within the State Government of Punjab, Mr. Tewari's most recent roles have included Chief Secretary of the government, Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Pincipal Secretary in the Department of Finance, Principal Secretary in the Department of Industries & Commerce and CEO of Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion. For three years he also served as the Country Coordinator for IFAD India, during which he assisted the Country Program Manager in developing strategies for IFAD's collaboration with the Government of India and designed programmes that led to poverty reduction. At the national level, Mr. Tewari has served as Director of Fund Bank and Director of Foreign Trade in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance as well as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Tewari holds a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Master's Degree in Economics from Panjab University and Master's Degree in International Development Policy from Duke University.
