As Open Society Foundation’s (OSF) Director for Real Estate and Facilities globally, Barry’s role embraces responsibility for all aspects of providing and operating OSF’s physical places of work around the world. The team are directly responsible for the acquisition, design and fit-out of all offices, and facilities management for the main locations. The key to successfully accomplishing this is understanding how best to support and encourage the progressive advancement of a positive culture and a sense of cohesive community across OSF and its extended network. Facilitating productive work and furthering the overall aims and goals of the organisation, including minimising the environmental impact of operations, are also critical.

Prior to joining OSF at the beginning of 2018, Barry was an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Other appointments include Global Director of Group Services at Zurich Insurance, Group Property Director at Royal Bank of Scotland Group, and Chair of corporate real estate association CoreNet Global in 2009/10. He is currently a William Pitt Fellow at Pembroke College, University of Cambridge, and an editorial board member of Corporate Real Estate Journal.
