Camilla is currently the Deputy Director for Building Safety Reform, leading reform of the regulation for the built environment, including implementing the Building Safety Act. During the COVID 19 pandemic, as a Response Director for the Department for Levelling Up, she led on providing situational awareness from across England. Prior to that she was the Programme Director for Grenfell Recovery, leading work ensure those affected were provided with support, and the Grenfell Tower safely managed. As Deputy Director for Housing-led Regeneration and Investment she led work to regenerate social housing estates and develop the Build to Rent market, building on her work as Deputy Director for Big Society and Community Rights where she led work to mobilise communities to take action in their neighbourhoods and build community resilience.

Previously she has worked as a free-lance musician and music teacher, including as Head of Music at Southwark College of Further Education, and was the Community Chair of Southwark’s Aylesbury Estate New Deal for Communities Board. She has a Masters Degree in Public Service Management from Birmingham University, where she focussed on female leadership in the public sector.
