Caroline’s work focuses on the lifestyle and environmental factors that cause exposure to toxic metals in pregnancy and childhood, and how this affects child development. As a nutritionist and dietitian, she is especially interested in toxic metals in foods. Her project has two main aims: (1) to evaluate the NHS guidance on foods to limit or cut back on in pregnancy that relate to toxic metals; (2) to provide an evidence-base for the guidance, including information on diet and toxic metal levels in pregnancy.
