Chairman, WCA Environment
David Taylor is a professional chemist with a PhD in marine chemistry. A Chartered Chemist he is a Fellow of the Institute of Water and Environmental Management and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He chairs the RSC Environmental, Safety & Health Policy Group and sits as the RSC representative on the UK Government’s Chemical Stakeholders Forum.
He has 45 years experience of the evaluation, management and resolution of environmental issues in the heavy chemical, specialty chemical, agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries. Until June 2008 he was the Global Director of Environment & Sustainability for the pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, where he was responsible, amongst other things, for the direction of the company research programme in environmental science and heavily involved in the industry response to the issue of pharmaceuticals in the environment.
He is now the Chairman of the independent environmental consultancy firm wca Environment.
