Elise is an electrical/electronics engineer pursuing her PhD in engineering in the bioelectronics laboratory looking at how brain cancer can be understood and treated using electrical signals. Between her undergraduate studies in Australia and her PhD at the University of Cambridge, Elise worked at Siemens Smart Infrastructure leading the product support, training and management in the UK.

During her PhD she has co-founded a medical technology start-up, Opto Biosystems, developing wireless, injectable, microscopic brain interfaces to understand and treat neurological disorders. She is interested in the cross section of interdisciplinary fields like engineering, neuroscience and cancer.
