Senior Scientific Officer for Plastics, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)

Ellen Ronn is a plastics specialist working in Resources & Waste in Defra. She has a background in chemistry having spent time in academia and industry and now works to deliver science to policy makers through evidence projects, supporting Ministerial briefings, in-house research and horizon scanning for emerging evidence. She delivers on immediate priorities and strategic developments in a range of areas including single-use plastic item bans, biodegradable and compostable plastic, the Global Plastics Treaty and holistic policy making related to the entire plastics lifecycle.
