Fiona works on the EU Migrant Worker Project within the Faculty of Law. The work is part of a programme called 'The UK in a Changing Europe (UKICE)’ (http://ukandeu.ac.uk), which is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. UKICE is an authoritative, non-partisan think tank which does research and provides information about all aspects of Brexit.

Fiona has written extensively on the topic of EU citizens in the UK and Brexit. Her work has been featured in The Independent, The Times, The Conversation and BBC News among others. She has given evidence to both the House of Lords, EU Affairs Committee, and to Parliamentary Staff in the House of Commons on the topic of (EU) citizen’s rights. Her work has been cited in reports by both the UK House of Lords and the Welsh Parliament. She also blogs on Brexit, mainly for the http://ukandeu.ac.uk.

Prior to joining the University of Cambridge in 2019, Fiona worked for migrants’ rights advice charity GYROS since 2012. Alongside her academic work, Fiona continues this work and is passionate about facilitating collaborations between community practitioners, academic research and policy makers.
