Hayne Leland is Arno Rayner Professor Emeritus of Finance and Management at Haas School of Business at Berkeley. He was the first winner of the Stephen A. Ross Prize from the Foundation for the Advancement of Research in Financial Economics (FARFE) for his research in corporate debt pricing and capital structure.

His research interests include:

• Structural modeling of credit risk
• Dynamic models of optimal leverage and agency costs
• Optimal investment strategies in the presence of transactions costs
• Performance measurement: beyond mean-variance analysis
