Head of Development, UNEP-WCMC

Jerry Harrison is Head of Development at UNEP-WCMC, where he has worked for more than 30 years. Throughout that time he has worked with a wide range of intergovernmental agreements and processes, with a particular focus on promoting more effective decision making within these agreements and processes through appropriate use of data, information and knowledge.

Currently Jerry is supporting UNEP in the operationalisation of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), and is actively involved in work with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). With a number of colleagues he is also working on means for more coordinated and coherent implementation of international agreements with respect to biodiversity and ecosystem services, and on identifying and addressing barriers to accessing data, information and knowledge.
