Dr Juliet Foster is a University Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge. She is interested in the development and interaction between different forms of knowledge, and in social psychological perspectives on mental ill health.

She has looked in depth at understandings of mental health problems amongst different groups, including people who use mental health services, mental health professionals and the general public. She has used the theory of social representations extensively in her work, and remains particularly interested in issues of the genesis, transformation and interaction between representations.
