Dr Karen Stroobants is a policy adviser at the Royal Society of Chemistry, where she works on policy for improving research environments and environmental policy. Karen previously worked on the research culture programme of the Royal Society, with the aim to improve research practises.

Before moving into the policy space, Karen worked as a chemist at the Centre for Misfolding Diseases, University of Cambridge, where she studied membrane protein aggregates and their potential role in neurodegenerative diseases. Before moving to the UK, Karen completed her PhD at KU Leuven, Belgium.
