Katharina joined the Centre in 2013 and since then has supported a range of projects related to implementation of the biodiversity-related conventions. Each year she also teaches a session on Multilateral Environmental Agreements to the MPhil in Conservation Leadership students at Cambridge University. Further, Katharina both leads and contributes to the development and delivery of projects which require legal analysis and/or analysis of environmental governance.

Katharina has previously worked as a legal consultant and policy advisor on behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Focusing on public administrative reform and state building, she supported GIZ programs in Cambodia, Afghanistan (remotely) and South Sudan. From 2010-2016 Katharina has also been associated with the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL). Katharina completed her legal studies in Germany and France, and did an interdisciplinary Master’s programme in the Environment Option at McGill University. She also passed the German State Legal Traineeship.
