Kristina is Research Programme Leader in Health Service Research/Senior Research Associate at THIS (The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute). She has over 12 years of experience as an academic in higher education institutions in England and Scotland.

Kristina has undertaken research and teaching in areas of public health dentistry, health service research and population health. Her research questions focus on improving health services and health promotion for underserved groups in dentistry and linked general health conditions. She utilises mixed method research techniques and routinely collected data (Real World Evidence) in her research. She plays a role in the wider research and advocacy community to tackle inequalities in health as Vice-President (2022-23) of the Global Oral Health inequalities Network of the IADR (International Association of Dental Research) and British Dental Association Health and Science Committee Member since 2020.

Kristina has a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS), Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and Ph.D in Health Service Research and Population Health. She has held academic and research posts at the University Dundee, King’s College London, University of Portsmouth, Queen Mary University of London and NIHR CRN Wessex as the Lead for Oral and Dental Specialty.
