Luke Barratt is a PhD candidate in Statistics at the DPMMS, University of Cambridge. He specialises in the development and use of object data analysis with an eye to applications in official statistics and public policy. He has most recently been working on the registration of geographically referenced temporal data, a key application being in the analysis of Covid-19 wave data at the subnational level, understanding the differing impacts of national and regional restrictions in the UK and Europe. He has a keen interest in the communication and use of—especially novel—data analytic techniques in the world of public policymaking.
