Transforming Policymaking Lead, Policy Profession Unit

As the lead for the Transforming Policy Making project in the government’s Policy Profession Unit, Mark is tasked with finding ways to improve the government’s policy making capability and helping teams and organisations identify where they can improve. Mark is also responsible for projects to help enable more multi-disciplinary approaches to policy making, including the creation of more multi-disciplinary teams in government, and to increase the use of systems thinking within policy making.
Mark has worked in DHSC and DfE before joining the Policy Profession Unit, covering a diverse range of policies including further education interventions, childhood obesity, EU cross-border healthcare and NHS reform.
