Dr Nancy Bocken is a Senior Research Associate in the Institute for Manufacturing at the University of Cambridge. She works as a Lead Researcher for the EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Industrial Sustainability, where she leads the Environmental Performance Variation and Sustainable Industrial Systems Grand Challenges.

Other projects she has led include the Sustainability Assessment and Knowledge Exchange (SAKE) and the project “Meaningful stakeholder dialogue: The need, value and materiality of sustainability reporting”. Nancy is collaborating with the EU project SustainValue on the topic of sustainable business models. She is working in close contact with other academic institutes, industry, NGO’s and policy makers to find ways to help the industrial system become more sustainable in the short and longer-term.

In 2013 Nancy was a Visiting Fellow at Yale University, School of Forestry and Environmental Studies (Fall 2013), where she was lecturing on sustainable business models and related topics. Nancy also has a part-time position at TU Delft where she works for the EU Consortium RESCOM on closed-loop business models and production systems. At TU Delft her research intersects at the areas of sustainable business models, design and innovation for a closed loop economy.
