Nick Bisson is the Director for Rail Infrastructure- Midlands, North and Integrated Rail Plan in the Department for Transport. He sponsors a range of rail enhancements including the £17bn Northern Powerhouse Rail project to improve connections between Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and York/Newcastle, working closely with local partners, HS2 Ltd and Network Rail.

Nick holds a PhD in the theory of statistics from the University of Warwick, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Durham.
