Oladipo Okusaga is a British diplomat focusing on energy and climate issues. Oladipo currently serves as the Head of Energy and Climate at the British embassy in Washington DC. Prior to his posting to Washington DC, Oladipo held the position of Head of Energy and Climate Middle East and North Africa at the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, where he focused on Energy security and the energy transition in the MENA region. Oladipo also served as an Executive Board Member and UK representative at the International Energy Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Before his career in diplomacy, Oladipo Okusaga was a consultant, leading major projects in the private sector where he specialized in the setup, procurement, and delivery of complex major programmes across the property, infrastructure, and natural resources sectors. Notably, he provided consulting services to esteemed clients such as Heathrow Airport, UK Environment Agency, Shell, Chevron and Anglian Water, demonstrating his expertise in project and programme management advisory. Oladipo's private sector experience has undoubtedly enriched his diplomatic endeavours, allowing him to approach energy and climate issues with a well-rounded perspective.
Oladipo's academic background includes a MSc in Sustainable Urban Development from the University of Oxford. He also holds a MSc in Project and Enterprise Management from University College London (UCL) and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Aston University.
