Dr Owen Cotton-Barratt is a Research Associate in the Future of Humanity Institute at the University of Oxford. He was previously Director of Research at the Centre for Effective Altruism, and has worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton.
Owen holds a DPhil in mathematics from the University of Oxford. His research interests are centred on how to prioritise actions in situations of great uncertainty, including a focus on catastrophic risk and understanding the long-term effects of actions today.
