Steve Morris is the RAND Professor of Health Services Research at the University of Cambridge. He leads the Cambridge Research Methods Hub (CRMH) is co-Director of the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research (CCHSR) and is Deputy Director of the Primary Care Unit (PCU). He is an experienced health economist, having completed his PhD in economics in 2002. He worked previously at University College London (where he was Professor of Health Economics), Brunel University London (Reader), Imperial College London (Senior lecturer) and City University London (Lecturer). He was elected to his current position with effect from 1 June 2019.

Steve’s research interests are primarily in the cost-effectiveness of interventions to improve health across a range of intervention types, disease areas and population groups, and the determinants of health service use. He has written several papers on the economics of obesity, and has interests and expertise in undertaking econometric analyses of large datasets, including Hospital Episode Statistics and the Health Survey for England. He is currently leading a major project funded by the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research funding programme to investigate coordinated care for rare diseases (the CONCORD Study), and he co-leads the Health Economics And Data (HEAD) resource within the NIHR Children and Families Policy Research Unit.
