Tom is an RSE Enterprise Fellow in the Biochemistry Department in Cambridge and a GFC Fellow in Innovation & Entrepreneurship at the World Economic Forum. His interests lie in understanding the effect of innovation and entrepreneurship on society and the economy. Particular focuses are: how innovation and entrepreneurship will affect the number and types of jobs in the economy; how to enable more inclusive entrepreneurial eco-systems; the development of new metrics for measuring the success of entrepreneurial endeavours (beyond financial success); the development of regulatory regimes than can cope with the rapid advances in science and technology; new pedagogical methodologies to better enable creative and innovative mindsets in students. Tom is co-author of a patent and has appeared as a scientific expert on Sky News and Channel 4 television. He is passionate about using scientific and technological advances to make a difference in the world.
