Economist and researcher in innovation, CENIT - CONICET

Valeria Arza is a senior researcher in science, technology and innovation policy at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) with workplace at the Research Center for the Transformation of the National University of San Martin (CENIT / UNSAM). She is Associate Professor of Industrial Organization at Buenos Aires University and funding member of the Latin American Hub of the STEPS Global Consortium. She has honors degree on Economics (Buenos Aires University) a Master in Development (London School of Economics) and a PhD in Studies of Science and Technology Policy (SPRU, Sussex University)

Her research interests are on science and technology policy, and in particular on open and citizen science and productive innovation. She is currently leading actions in Latin America for two global projects. On the one hand, Strings with the support of UKRI and UNDP on how science, research and innovation can contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals in developing countries, and on the other hand, CoAct funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Union on Citizen Science for Environmental Justice.
