In January 2023, members of the Cambridge Zero Policy Forum met with Matthew Bell, a Director at Frontier Economics and former Chief Executive of the UK Climate Change Committee, to discuss the role of evidence in informing policy on climate change and sustainability.

CSaP's Horn Fellowship and members of the Policy Fellowship network met with Cambridge academics to shed light on some the uncertainty witnessed in 2022 and what we might expect to see in 2023.

The Centre for Science and Policy launches a new online course in collaboration with Cambridge Advance Online. The 6-week course will provide learners with analytical tools and frameworks to deeply understand the problems they may be facing, improve their decision-making processes, and produce effective, evidence-based policy solutions.

The final seminar in this series focused on the roles that land use, biodiversity and food play in climate change mitigation.

The Centre for Science and Policy held its Annual Reception on 6 December 2022 at the Royal Academy of Engineering to thank policy professionals and researchers who have engaged and collaborated with the Centre throughout the year.

The third meeting of CSaP’s Dowling Policy Fellowship was designed to stimulate discussion around the subject of clean tech, with talks from a variety of academics and innovators from the Cambridge ecosystem.

The Centre for Science and Policy continued its series of in-person Policy Fellows seminars held in collaboration with the British Academy on 17 November 2022, where researchers from the University of Cambridge’s Bennett Institute for Public Policy and the Institute for Community Studies presented their work on the ways that communities define social infrastructure and how this can inform UK policymakers. Dr Charlotte Sausman, Associate Director, Policy Fellowships, chaired the discussion.

The second seminar in this series looked at how global markets are reacting to the challenges faced by climate change.

Lord Deben (John Gummer), Chairman of the UK's Climate Change Committee and Professor Emily Shuckburgh, Director, Cambridge Zero, University of Cambridge, kicked off the first seminar of the 2023 Christ's College Climate Seminar Series on 19 January 2023 at the Yusuf Hamied Theatre, Christ's College Cambridge.

In November 2022, the Centre for Science and Policy delivered a series of policy workshops on how to apply systems thnking to policy making. These workshops brought together policy makers and experts to discuss health systems, physical infrastructure, and conflict.
