How does government affect change? Air pollution comes from a wide range of day-to-day activities and tackling it will require both technological fixes, behavioural change and longer-term shifts in social norms. We have a firm understanding of the breadth of the problem, however there is much less consensus about the solutions.
Responses will need to focus at the household, industry, city and national levels. CSaP brought together an interdisciplinary group of scientists, social scientists, civil society and industry leaders to discuss the way forward in the context of Defra’s recently released Clean Air Strategy 2018.
