Research Associate, Department of Chemical Engineering, Imperial College London
Dr Alex Kell is a Research Associate at the Sustainable Gas Institute (SGI) working with the energy model MUSE, joining the SGI in 2020 from Newcastle University following his PhD in computer science. During this time Alex used methods based on machine learning, reinforcement learning and multi-agent systems to develop long-term energy models of national energy systems. Previously, he studied an MEng in electrical and electronic engineering at University College London (2015).
Alex's research interests lie at the intersection of macro-economic policy, computer science and technology and my current work primarily focuses on modelling energy systems, with a a particular interest in working on complex systems and how these make an impact in a global context.
Alex joined CSaP for a 3-month EPSRC funded policy internship at the end of 2019.
