Ben Saoul is Minister-Counsellor for National Security and Foreign Policy at the British Embassy in Paris. He is a member of HM Diplomatic Service having served in frontline foreign policy roles in London and overseas. He currently oversees the UK’s cooperation with France on a range of priority areas including illegal migration and the war in Ukraine. Previously he was Head of the FCDO’s Crisis Management Department; led the UK’s preparations for triggering Article 50 during the process of leaving the EU; was Deputy Consul General in Jerusalem; and Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Defence to the Prime Minister in 10 Downing Street. He is married with three children.
