Cordula coordinates and works on a variety of projects exploring the relationship between biodiversity and climate change at UNEP-WCMC. These projects address: the impacts of climate change on biodiversity; ways to build on the potential of ecosystems to support climate change adaptation; and efforts to slow climate change by managing ecosystem carbon stocks in line with the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Cordula is a member of the UN-REDD Safeguards Coordination Group.

Before joining UNEP-WCMC in 2010, Cordula was a member of the Biodiversity Unit of the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation where she had a coordinating role for the Agency’s work on biodiversity and climate change. A vegetation scientist by training, Cordula has a particular interest in understanding and improving the connections between science, policy and practice.
