Non-Executive Patient Chair, Both Sides NOW

David Burbidge is Non-Executive Patient Chair of Both Sides NOW, an emerging social enterprise supported by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, which collects and compares both patient and clinician views of the same experience challenges.

A former merchant seaman and lighthouse keeper, David has been a psychotherapist and charity CEO. Living as he does with multiple long-term conditions, David experiences the NHS on a regular basis. He was selected by the Department of Health to Chair of the North East London NHS People’s Platform and is a National Patient Champion.
