Associate Professor, Head of Ecosystem and Carbon Science Group
Adam's research leverages basic science to create a forward-looking research program that works with industry and government to identify the research advances needed for successful implementation of climate change solutions. As an Assistant Professor at the University of Cambridge, he has laid the foundation for developing this program, as he is currently running projects funded by ca. £2 million from external grants received over the course of three years. His research blends basic science in ecology and carbon cycling with applied science that evaluates how global change will affect ecosystem functioning, and solution-oriented science developing ways to implement solutions in policy and business settings to help abate climate change.
