She is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the press club, that has been advocating for press freedom and ethical standards in journalism since 1859. Her work encompasses a gamut of activities: from monitoring and commenting media developments and national legislation, to media consulting, public appearances, writing op-eds, organizing conferences and holding interviews.
Kraus holds a PhD in history. Her professional path encompasses various aspects of media-related activities: journalism, media consulting, practice-oriented media research and education.
In 2011 she founded and directed fjum_forum journalismus und medien (fjum), an institution specialized in training professional journalists. As a leading Austrian expert in developing curricula for journalism training programs, Kraus managed to position fjum as the most important training institution in the country. In 2019 she decided to accept a new challenge and joined Press Club Concordia.
